As you might know, I’m super pregnant. Like, nine months pregnant. Under the “things they never tell you” file, can we just clarify that humans normally gestate their babies for nine and a half months? Why do we round down? Manatee, being a parent himself, has been very supportive and can’t wait to meet the […]

Windy City was clearly in top form last weekend as hosts of the Golden Bowl, beating Texas by 3, Bay Area by 63, and Denver by 38. They win the weekend, hands down. From what I saw, they played together, played clean, and used a physical defense to hold opponents to an average of 153 […]

Manatee Monday: Meet Rosie!

Rosie has been living in captivity since 1968, and is one of the permanent manatees at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Yee-haw! America! We had a pretty-low key 4th of July here at the Sour house. I’d say we had a quiet day, but we live in the city, so it was pretty freaking loud. We just weren’t the ones making the noise. Manatee decided he wanted to show his patriotic side. Drinking a beer on […]

As you might know, I wrote a book for roller derby newbies. Yay! It’s coming out in approximately one month! Holy crap! This weekend, I’ll be finishing up the final draft and getting it ready for editing. Get ready newbs. I’ve had some volunteer readers go through an early draft, and they had some ideas […]

Welcome once again to the Frisky Power Rankings, where I rank women’s flat track roller derby according to my whims/in-depth knowledge. Fortunately, there were a bunch of games this weekend. Unfortunately, I was either busy or napping for most of them. Can’t you play roller derby at 11pm in Pennsylvania so I can watch at […]
