Denver vs. Bay Area

7:28  Ack, so late! Denver is playing slow. Go figure. Eight minutes left in the half? Denver’s up, but not by much. 7:32  I believe it’s pronounced “Beg-a-mon”, announcers. Isn’t it? 7:33  Bay Area, I don’t get your power jam strategy.  Whip your jammer and then just slow down? That did not work. 7:35  Yeah, […]

A roller derby convention in Vegas doesn’t really appeal to an introvert.  I like meeting people, but it all seems a little…much.  Wild West Showdown and last year’s Western Regionals were more enticing, and I had a fan-tastic time!  (Except for very late Saturday night and Sunday morning at Regionals.  Those were pretty unpleasant. Loose liquor laws […]

Derby history added

I added a page so you can see what I’m all about, derby-wise.  See? Up at the top there?  It says “Frisky’s derby story.”  Go ahead!  Take a look! I’ve been around!

Help a girl out here. If you were a really unfashionable lady, who nevertheless was really excited about going to a fashion-y event, what in the world would you wear? I mean, I have stuff that looks okay, but nothing really…fashionable.  There are ten Rose City Rollers going.  For some reason, people like to invite […]

That’s a relief. On Tuesday night I went to my first real practice for a month (casual though it might have been), and on Wednesday I scrimmaged with travel team. Because there’s no better way to get back into the swing of things than to just jump into scrimmaging the fifth-best team in the world, […]

98% of the dinners we eat around could be characterized as “quick” dinners, meaning there’s a minimum of work involved, and a fast turnaround time.  I like to cook, but prefer to eat. This organic kamut pasta came into our life via Grocery Outlet.   It’s more caloric than basic durum wheat pasta, but with more protein.  Kamut […]
